Steering and Direction: Jesus Take the Wheel

Love Wins: A Few Good Thoughts

I wanted to like this book. I watched as conservative bloggers jumped on the train to burn this book, and some of them certainly jumped the gun, condemning it far too early to be appropriate. While I land in the decidedly conservative theological camp, I am willing to call out conservatives when they are giving us a bad name. Damning a book to a place it allegedly argues may or may not exist before it comes out is a practice too full of uncertainties and overly zealous bloggers. Continue reading

Love Wins: Preliminary Thoughts

I have been working my way through Rob Bell’s latest book, Love Wins, over the course of the last few days. The book has sparked an insane amount of controversy in the blogging world, and it seems that everyone with a blog has something to say about it. I haven’t finished the book yet, and so cannot comment on the book as a whole. Instead, I intend to offer some initial impressions and a few comments on the debate.

Fitting In (The Shadows)

It is hard to believe that I have only posted here three times in the last month, one of which was a links post. This is due in part to my busy schedule, my commitments at other blogs, and a bit of a lack of inspiration. While I have not posted much recently, it is good to watch the blog continue to churn out content. We have collected a fine group of writers with a wide variety of views, and I am grateful to be a part of it, no matter how small.
